Whether you are looking to sell a home or simply wishing to give your bathroom an update, you don’t need to do complex things like routing new pipes or reframing windows, however when you change the surface area of your bathroom, you’ll unlock great value.
The good news is it doesn’t take a ton of expertise to do this job; in fact, if you have basic skills and can follow instructions, you can do amazing things in your bathroom.
Before you do anything however, take a look at how your bathroom is set up and plan accordingly. Perhaps even do a few different design ideas. See about the different tiles and vanities that would fit. As always, remember to measure twice and cut once.
1. Demo the Old Fixtures
Before you transform your bathroom, you need to get rid of the old stuff. This includes things like the shower door, wall tiles, shower pan, flooring, and the vanity. Be safe during this process and careful you don’t nick any pipes.
2. Shower Pan Installation
Make sure the drain aligns with plumbing and your pan is level before caulking into place.
3. Finish Your Walls and Floor
Follow instructions on tiles, but lay then after you paint the walls so that you don’t get any paint on the new floor.
4. Shower Tile
Make sure you are careful and install the tile as directed to prevent any water from getting behind the tile.
5. New Light Fixture
Connect everything as directed, you will work down again as the vanity is next.
