These days, if there’s one thing that makes a DIYer’s ears perk up, it’s wood pallets. There’s seemingly nothing a good DIYer can’t do with these things… Of course, you may be feeling a little inexperienced when it comes to working with them.
If so, then this is a great beginner DIY project with wood pallets. In it, you’re going to learn how to trim some wood pallets down to size, turning them into a tremendous raised garden bed. Best of all, you’ll see how you can use your wood pallets to create a makeshift trellis for your raised garden bed that’s perfect for climbing plants.
You can watch the tutorial VIDEO below. Meanwhile, be sure to follow along with our step-by-step guide to this amazing project.
1. Gather Your Pallets
As with any other DIY wood pallet project, everything begins with getting out there and gather a stack of wood pallets!
2. But Double Check
In order for your wood pallet raised garden bed to survive, you’ll want to make sure that your pallets are heat treated. (An “HT” marking denotes this.)
3. Getting Started
To get started, you’ll use wood screws to attach two sides to a tall pallet like you see here. (This gives space for climbing plants.)
4. The Bare Minimum
Keep in mind, you don’t have to follow the exact dimensions of this design; you only need to follow the basic premise.
