9. Dark and Uninviting
Before: The combination of muted wall colors and dark red furniture makes for a living room that’s entirely uninviting.
After: Brighter colors, of course, help to transform this space entirely. While the new living room largely uses the same layout, note the subtle changes made.
10. Opening Up Space
Before: This living room is located right next to the front door, with a small wall and pillar providing separation.
After: In the remodel, that separation was removed and instead replaced by a wall sconce. It makes the whole space feel grander and more inviting.
